My name is Jeff Tilt and I am a confirmed animal lover who has been a dog owner since the early 1960′s. One of my dogs even won a dog show and a fish from my breeding program won second place in the largest show of aquarium fish in the United States. Yes, they really do have aquarium fish shows.

Even though my formal training is in computer science, I have had the good fortune to have been involved as a volunteer researcher investigating animal behavior (no evil testing stuff) with animals as diverse as dogs, the Mountain Gorilla, and Whale Sharks.

Now I think it’s time I gave back to the animals from which I have gotten so much. My email alerts are my attempt to do that. Originally I posted these alerts to both Facebook and Myspace. I then moved the notices to this blog. I refused to implement a typical newsletter, you can get one of those at dozens of sites across the Internet. Instead, I have implemented my alert system to let you know about products that can do significant harm to your dog. If you sign up for my alerts you won’t hear from me very often; but when you do, pay attention. If I can save one pet owner and one dog from unnecessary anguish it will have all been worth it.

I would like to leave you with what is probably my favorite dog quote by Roger Caras. It is as follows:

“Dogs have given us their absolute all. We are the center of their universe. We are the focus of their love and faith and trust. They serve us in return for scraps. It is without a doubt the best deal man has ever made.”
